Surrey Jack
DCHP-3 (Oct 2022)
n. — Urban culture, also derogatory
A stereotype of young male Indo-Canadian from Surrey, BC.
Type: 1. Origin — The term appears to be a neologism that is grounded in the dense populated areas in Metro Vancouver south of the Fraser River, in Surrey and environs, which is a major urban centre for the Canadian South Asian community.
The female equivalent Surrey Girl is older (attested since at least 2000), but is much less frequent and likely not a set phrase. Surrey girl, more so than Surrey Jack is a derogatory term, originally referring to a promiscuous woman.
See: NewfieMeaning 3
Note that Surrey Jack should not be used by outsiders beyond the South Asian community (es.g. see Image 1), as it may carry negative connotations. Compare the use of Newfie, which has a similar insider/outsider dynamic.

Does the Vietnamese version of a Surrey Jack, "Nammer", count as regional? same type of behaviour and attire, just add the thickest North Face puffy vest available, even in the summer.
